William Mercado

William Mercado of Perth Amboy, NJ passed away June 11, 2023 at Raritan Bay Medical Center – Perth Amboy in the loving arms of his family after losing a hard-fought battle with cancer.  He was deeply loved by all of us.  Dad loved to play bingo with his family, to listen to music, and to dance.  He was also an animal lover and, in turn, loved by his fur-grand babies Milo, Mila, Coco and Nena, Oakley, Nyla and his favorite bird Willie. William was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Predeceased by his parents Joaquin and Ramona Mercado and sister Angelica; William is survived by his beloved wife of over 48 years Ernilda (née Rodriguez), children: William Mercado, Jr., Samuel Mercado, William F. Mercado, Nelson Mercado, Jessica Mercado, and Julissa Mercado; fourteen grandchildren; and siblings Nelson, Gladys, and Carmen.

Family and friends will be received Sunday 2:00pm – 6:00pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ.  The funeral service will be celebrated Monday 10:00am with the burial to follow at Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy, NJ.
