Linda M. (Matlack) Butch

Obituary

Linda M. Butch of Warren Center, PA passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022.  She was 82 years old.  Born in Cincinnati, OH, Linda was a resident of Milltown, NJ from the age of 7 until retiring to Warren Center, PA in 2000.  Linda served as a clerk for the Milltown Public Library for nearly 30 years.  She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church at Milltown, where she was also a member of the choir and taught Sunday school.  Linda was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was very active in her community and willingly lent a hand behind the scenes for many organizations and events.  The Fourth of July is a huge event in Milltown, and Linda celebrated by throwing legendary July 4th picnics.  Everyone was welcomed to her home for a burger, drink, and a good time.  She loved crafting, crocheting, gardening, and, in her younger days, bowling.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Theodore “Sonny” J. Butch, Sr. in 2008; parents Elbirn and Helen Matlack; brother Walter Matlack; and sisters Blanche Herbert and Roberta Goodwin; Linda is survived by son and daughter-in-law Theodore J., Jr. and Monica Butch; daughter Terrie Raychel; grandchildren: Joseph Butch (Jackie), Rosalie Gwerder(Nick), TJ Butch III (Sara), and Allison Raychel; great-grandchildren: Noah, Mara, Nora, Haddie, and Thea; step-grandson Robert (Amanda) Raychel; step-great-grandchildren Aubryana and Madelyn; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Friends will be received on Friday, February 4, 2022, 4:00-8:00pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ. The funeral service will be celebrated Saturday 10:00am at the funeral home followed by burial at Van Liew Cemetery.
