It is with great sorrow, yet profound gratitude for her beautiful life, that we announce the passing of Judith “Judi” T. Lenkey, loving wife, adored mother, cherished grammy, admired sister and esteemed friend, on December 7, 2023 at the age of 76.
Born to Leo and Justine Raker on July 11th, 1947, Judi was the 2nd of 6 children in the Raker clan. She would become pivotal in raising her siblings after the untimely death of her mother when she was just 13 years old. Her kindness, compassion and motherly instincts immediately kicked in and Judi helped care for her siblings most of her adolescence, ultimately shaping who she would become as a woman, wife, mother, sister, grammy and friend.
Judi met the love of her life, Charles Lenkey while attending Franklin High School. She graduated in 1965 and the two were married on October 5th, 1968. Together they had two daughters, Robin and Melissa. Judi’s family was the center of her universe. From home cooked meals, to volunteering as Girl Scout Troop Leader, working lunch duty at Our Lady of Lourdes School or being a Middlesex Academy of Dance Troupe Mom for both of her girls, Judi gave of her time selflessly and enjoyed every moment immersed in her daughter's lives. Nothing gave her more pride than her beautiful family.
Judi dedicated a significant part of her life to her career at a variety of companies including Squibb, Webcraft, Vertis, Educational Testing Services and more. She was known for her dedication, tenacity and work ethic but most of all for her gift of fostering lifelong friendships. Like a beacon of light in the industry, she guided and inspired many, leaving a lasting impression on all those that met her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Justine Raker and her dear siblings Michael Raker and Anita Mozgai.
Judi is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles R. Lenkey; her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Geoffrey Rosamond and Melissa and Jack Algieri; her beloved grandchildren Nicholas Algieri, Christina Rosamond, Geoffrey C. Rosamond, Brooke Algieri, and Dean Algieri; siblings Deborah Chlan and her husband Jon, Tina Anderson, and Amy Baldesweiler; stepmother Peggy Raker; half-siblings Jack Raker and Sandra Robertson; step-siblings Richard Semon and Sherry Koken; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 30th 2023 from 11:00am - 2:00pm at Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home in Milltown with the Funeral Service being celebrated at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judi’s name to the Glioblastoma Foundation.
