Wilma A. Applegate of North Brunswick, NJ passed away on March 18, 2022 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, NJ. She was 95 years old. Born in NY, NY, she was a lifelong resident of North Brunswick. She was employed as a cafeteria cook at John Adams Elementary School in North Brunswick for 35 years. Wilma’s Catholic faith played a central role in her life. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church, North Brunswick, where she also willingly volunteered her free time. She put the needs of others before her own and was always there to tend to the sick and needy of her community. Wilma enjoyed cooking and tending to her house and yard, both of which she did well-into her later years.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Applegate in 1988 and her three children Linda Ann, Edward, and Richard; Wilma is survived by her loving grandchildren Amanda, Richard, Corey, and Brad Applegate; daughter-in-law Jeanette Applegate; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday 4-7pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ. The mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10am at Our Lady of Peace Church followed by burial at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
