Barbara J. (Kiser) Beacham

Barbara Jane Beacham, 91, formerly of Milltown, NJ , passed away peacefully on December 21^st 2022, surrounded by members of her family.

Barbara was born on July 23^rd 1931, the second of four children,  to Owen and Mildred Kiser in Glassboro, NJ. After graduating from New Brunswick High School, Barbara went on to pursue a degree in Mathematics and Education at Douglas College.

Barbara started teaching math and science at Joyce Kilmer School and retired from teaching after a 26 year career at Rutgers Preparatory School.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband James Robert Beacham and by her companion James H. Strimple.

Barbara was the strong matriarch of the family and a wonderful caring mother. She is survived by her three children, Kathy (Paul) Jones of Piscataway NJ, Amy (Nilo) Ramos of Newbury Park, CA, and Jeffrey (Amy) Beacham of Ledyard, CT and six grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Nicholas, Daniel, Timothy, and Samantha. In addition, she is survived by her three siblings Donald Kiser, Nancy Moetz and Joan Brown.

After her teaching career,  Barbara kept herself busy volunteering at Interfaith Network of Care (INC), Meals on Wheels, and Elijah's Promise, and was active at the United Methodist Church at Milltown.  She was an avid bridge player, often playing multiple times a week with her many friends. Barbara enjoyed entertaining and hosted many gatherings of family and friends.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8pm on December 27^th, 2022 at Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home in Milltown, NJ. The funeral service will be at 11am on December 28^th at the funeral home followed by internment at Van Liew Cemetary in North Brunswick.  Donations can be made in Barbara’s name to the United Methodist Church at Milltown.
